The UF Brain Injury, Rehabilitation, and Neuroresilience (BRAIN) Center was developed to help bridge the gap between the premier brain institutes at the University of Florida: the McKnight Brain Institute, which is broadly focused on all aspects of neuroscience and neuromedicine research, and the Fixel Institute, which if home to scientists and clinicians at UF Health who are working on neurological disorders. Our mission is to foster interactions between brain injury clinicians and researchers, harnessing collective strengths across UF and affiliated institutions to encourage cross-disciplinary collaborations. We seek to increase our understanding of neuroresilience and neural injury and its difference from other neurological diseases. We also seek to develop new diagnostic and therapeutic strategies to treat traumatic or anoxic neural injury and associated sequelae.
