Earlier this year, the UF BRAIN Center, along with the McKnight Brain Institute, co-sponsored a helmet giveaway for Alachua County students as part of Brain Awareness Week. Volunteers from the North Central Florida Chapter of the Society for Neuroscience (SfN), the only student-run SfN chapter in the U.S., visited classrooms virtually and engaged these grade-school students in interactive learning opportunities regarding brain science as well as helmet safety.
