BRAIN Center Seed Fund Opportunity

Do you have a research idea that requires a small kick start? Perhaps you need a piece of equipment to complete an essential study? Do you need funds to help facilitate a collaboration? Center members are welcome to apply for BRAIN Center Seed Funds. Requests are limited to $10,000 per PI. Apply by July 31, 2024, for the current award cycle. Notification of results will be sent in early September. Eligibility Requirements: Must be a Professor (Assistant, Associate, or full) at the University of Florida and a Member of the BRAIN Center.

Please submit 1 PDF that includes the following: 1-page proposal that describes how these funds will facilitate your research and will benefit the center mission. Proposal Guidelines (1-page limit): (A) Proposal Title: Clearly state the title of your proposal. (B) Principal Investigator: Provide the name, title, department, and contact information of the Principal Investigator. Co-PIs and Multi-PIs are welcome, but awards will be limited to $10,000 per proposal. (C) Project Summary: Briefly describe the objectives, significance, and innovative aspects of the proposed project. (D) Budget Justification: Provide a summary of how the funds will be utilized, including itemized costs. (E) Impact and Future Plans: Describe the anticipated outcomes of the project and how it aligns with the goals of the BRAIN Center. Additionally, outline any plans for future research or collaboration stemming from this project.
