Learn more about our center and how it benefits clinicians and researchers, patients with brain injury, and the larger community.

Mission: To foster cross-disciplinary collaborations and innovation between brain injury clinicians and researchers at UF, harnessing collective strengths to improve understanding of neuroresilience and neural injury, and to develop new diagnostic and therapeutic strategies for vascular, traumatic or anoxic neural injury. We are also dedicated to community outreach, engaging and educating the public on brain health and injury prevention.

Purpose: The UF BRAIN Center is dedicated to advancing the science, care, and understanding of brain injury and neuroresilience. Through innovative research, clinical excellence, education, and outreach, we foster interdisciplinary collaboration to develop evidence-based strategies for prevention, diagnosis, treatment, and recovery. By engaging professionals, communities, and policymakers, we promote compassionate care and meaningful change. We also serve as Florida’s lead state agency for brain injury, coordinating services, informing policy, and supporting statewide initiatives that improve outcomes. Our purpose is to restore function, dignity, and quality of life across the lifespan—helping individuals with brain injury reach their fullest potential.
